I am a commercial fisherman selling my catch direct to customers in the U.S. domestic marketplace.
I am from Cordova, Alaska and fish on the Copper River Delta. This is a very well-managed and sustainable
fishery with a long history that has kept our small community prospering for many years. My product
form is a "Processed at Sea--Headed & Gutted" (PAS-H&G) Copper River salmon. This is what I am calling
a relatively "New" H&G product form that is new to this fishery.
My winter job as a boat builder, designer & welder fabricator has afforded me ability to best set-up my boat for efficient quality handling of product and onboard processing of my entire production. This substantially raises the quality bar in the product I am able to deliver to you as these fish are processed immediately after capture. The quality handling steps I take will eventually be posted on this web site, to enlighten you folks of our process onboard our small 31-foot catcher/processor boat. The following are announcements from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game that contain information about the Copper River and Prince William Sound fisheries. These announcements dictate our allowable commercial fishing time and duration as well as catch information on a cumulative and by period basis. You can follow these to keep up the fisheries progress and know when I am out fishing. We typically ship fresh product within 6-8 hours after a period closure.
